Jaguar I-PACE to make European debut at Geneva Show in striking Photon Red

When revealed at the L.A. Motorshow in November last year the Jaguar I-PACE Concept car signalled the beginning of the a new chapter for Jaguar with the creation of an all-electric sports SUV.

Sharing a similar appearance to the F-PACE, this new models concept specification carried enough hints to suggest there was something different about this Jaguar – with “Electric” blue accents running down the sides and short nose where you would traditionally find a vast V8.

The car is now set to make it’s European debut at the Geneva Motorshow next week, this time in a more production car colour – the striking Photon Red.

Little has been revealed about the production specification of the Tesla chaser, yet this hasn’t stopped a reported 350 deposits being laid down.

Expect a 90kWh lithium-ion battery pack, returning an estimated 310miles – calculated using the NEDC method, powering dual electric motors (one front, one rear) with 400PS on tap and 700Nm of instant torque.

Ian Callum, Director of Design, has previously said of the I-PACE:

“The I-PACE Concept represents the next generation of electric vehicle design. It’s a dramatic, future-facing cab-forward design with a beautiful interior – the product of authentic Jaguar DNA, electric technology and contemporary craftsmanship.”

The arrival of the I-PACE in Geneva should also signal the announcement of more details of the car, which is set for launch in 2018.
