The new highly anticipated Nissan LEAF electric car was launched back in September 2017 with U.K. customer deliveries starting in February 2018. Previously the LEAF was only available in a launch edition specification, named LEAF 2.ZERO. To kick off the New Year Nissan today have announced pricing for the full model range.
Starting with the entry Visia grade available from just £21,990, including the £4,500 U.K. Plug-in car grant, rising to £33,655 for the range-topping Tekna version.
Nissan recently declared receipt of 10,000 pre-orders for the new model across Europe, demonstrating huge interest in what is already the world’s best selling electric car, additionally there may even be a Nismo edition on the cards.
The new Nissan LEAF offers a significant update over the previous model with dynamic new styling, advanced technologies – including ProPILOT – and a higher capacity battery.
On top of these improvements, there’s a 50% increase in range to 235miles (NEDC) and a 38% increase in power to 150PS compared to the outgoing model, yet the price is up to £1,500 lower than previous generation.
•Visia – From £21,990
• Acenta – From £24,290
• N-Connecta – From £25,990
• Zero – Limited Edition From £26,490
• Tekna – From £27,490
Carl Bayliss, EV Category Manager Nissan Motor (GB) Ltd., said;
‘With the New Nissan LEAF, all-electric motoring has never been more viable or affordable for almost any motorist. EV running costs are around 85% less than petrol or diesel cars and maintenance is almost 75% cheaper.
There’s £0 VED, free London Congestion Charge and even free parking in some cities, not to mention convenient home charging. It’s not surprising unprecedented numbers of drivers are making the switch and going electric.’
Limited to just 1,500 models, the New LEAF 2.ZERO special version is positioned between N-Connecta and the range-topping Tekna grade, and is available in two colours: Spring Cloud and Pearl Black. A generous specification includes:
• 17” alloy wheels
• front and rear heated black suede-effect bio-fabric seats
• heated steering wheel
• NissanConnect EV 7” touchscreen infotainment with six speaker sound system
• Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection and Intelligent Driver alertness
The New LEAF is also the first Nissan model in Europe to be equipped with Nissan’s autonomous ProPILOT technology and e-Pedal, which allows drivers to start, accelerate, decelerate and stop – simply by increasing or decreasing the pressure applied to the accelerator.
