Making its European debut in Oslo, Norway, the new Nissan LEAF has gone on sale. The limited launch edition is now available to order from £30,990 before the U.K. Plug-in car grant, that slices £4,500 from the list price.
A sleek new profile gives a dynamic look to the new LEAF. This design combined with excellent aerodynamics contributes to the improved pure electric driving range of up to 235 miles.
Anyone familiar with the latest Nissan design characteristics will recognise its signature boomerang-shaped lamps, V-motion flow in the front, flush-surface grille in clear blue and rear bumper’s blue moulding. The new Model is very similar in appearance to the smaller Micra.
Meanwhile under the bonnet drivers will find a new e-powertrain that delivers 110kW of power output and 320Nm of torque, improving acceleration and driver enjoyment.
Nissan have been keen to stress the new technology packed into the 2nd generation LEAF, all of which can be found in the launch edition – LEAF 2.ZERO.
Technology including ProPILOT driver assistance systems offers a confident, more comfortable drive. ProPILOT uses the steering, braking and acceleration to assist the driver within single lane, low speed traffic and motorway cruising scenarios.
In slow moving traffic it enables the new LEAF to autonomously slowdown and stop where traffic flow ceases. It will then start to follow the car in front when the flow resumes. Also included is ProPILOT Park for fully autonomous parking.
The highly equipped launch edition is available in either Spring Cloud (light green) or Black and will also feature the new e-Pedal enabling single pedal driving. Cars will be delivered from the beginning of 2018.
