How to use the Ecotricity app and their new fees

The way you pay to charge your electric car when using the Ecotricity Electric Highway network, available at most motorway services, has recently changed.

Previously a flat fee of £6 for 30 minutes of use was introduced, something that wasn’t welcomed by all drivers. Charging a flat fee was seen be unfair to drivers of cars who charge up slower than others.

New fees

To address this, Ecotricity have adjusted the way you now pay.

You are now charged 17p per kilowatt of energy you draw, along with a £3 connection fee.
