The Renault ZOE is one of the best selling electric cars in Europe, known for it fun driving dynamics, yet lacks the punch of some of it’s sporty rivals. At the Geneva Motorshow back in March, Renault unveiled the ZOE e-sport Concept car equipped with dual motors delivering almost 460bhp, enabling a zero to 60mph sprint in 3.2 seconds and hailing the arrival of an electric hot hatch.
The satin blue racer has been snapped in the Monaco, the host of this weekend’s FIA Formula E race. Photographed outside the Renault e.dams team garage by Alain Prost, Senior Team Manager, who declared on his personal Instagram account “My car just arrived this morning”.
Constructed of lightweight carbon fibre, the all electric car weights just 1,400kg and sits on diamond cut 20 inch alloy wheels. The blue and yellow colour scheme clearly mirrors that of the Renault Formula E team, as the car sits low and fierce next to nose cones and engine covers in the Monte Carlo pit lane.
Finally, the FIA Formula E Instagram account snapped the car’s wide and powerful rear as it silenty passed the Cafe de Paris in Casino Square.
Stéphane Janin, Director, Renault Concept Car Design previously commented on the e-sport:
“The brief for the Renault ZOE e-sport concept couldn’t have been simpler: ‘Have fun!’. So we came up with something midway between a production model and a racing car… It’s perfect for lovers of extreme driving sensations!”
