Liverpool vehicle hire firm Easirent has launched an electric car hire scheme from its Royal Liver Building base.
The firm, which recently moved headquarters from Bootle to the waterfront landmark, is offering a new Mercedes B-Class Electric Drive Car, with discounted rates for Royal Liver Building tenants.
The car is available from outside the building, on hourly or daily rates, and a charging point has been installed at the west entrance.
Easirent managing director Paul Hanley said:
“We’re launching this electric car hire scheme with the Royal Liver Buildings as it’s where the demand is currently sitting.
We got feedback from the tenants that an electric car would be perfect for all the city centre drivers as lots of short journeys can burn a lot of fuel and one charge will give a user 100 miles on electric power – more than enough to pick up a client or run out for lunch.
The car is still a prestige model and we’ve had excellent reviews of the feel, look, interior, ease of driving and overall efficiency. Bringing more electric cars on to our fleet is all part of our larger mission to be kinder to the environment.
Greener driving is very important now and anything we can do to reduce our carbon footprint helps in the long run to combating high CO2 emissions.”
